MB-4 Impregnator for Stone & More is a proprietary water-based penetrating (below-surface) sealer for all natural stone, grout, “terracotta,” concrete and any other kind of porous mineral and man-made material.

MB-4 seals (below-surface) almost anything it is applied on, from any kind of water borne discoloring agents and oil. MB-4 is warranted to be effective for at least 10 years for indoor applications – with the exception of polished stone floors when they are restored (refinished) – providing that the surface of the treated stone is maintained with compatible cleaning chemicals, such as our MB-1, MB-3, MB-5, MB-9. Like any other impregnator MB-4 is not effective against scratches and other surface damage such as chemical etches (wrongly referred to as “water stains” or “rings”) produced by accidental spills of pH active substances such as vinegar, orange or lemon juice, wine, perfume, etc. or the use of non-specialty cleaning products.

MB-4 will not alter the original color of most stones. To make sure, test on a spare tile or scrap of slab (following directions) and let cure for at least 48 hours to see final appearance. Do not seal stones that don’t need to be sealed.

DIRECTION FOR USE: Do NOT apply on stone immediately after installation of floors or walls. Other installations, such as a countertop can be sealed immediately after installation. Wait for at least 3 weeks before sealing a new floor or wall installation. The stone surface must be free of any coating, dust, soiling, etc. Floors: for large floors the use of a professional floor machine is necessary, using a white or red nylon pad (for small floors, see directions for tops below). Target approximately 15 to 20 square feet; sprinkle MB-4 on the middle of the target area, position the nylon pad onto the product, and then with the machine spread it over the target area and keep rubbing it in until any residue of the product disappears from the surface. Repeat procedure on another section and so on, until the whole floor has been treated. Discard the pad when it becomes too tacky. On polished marble and hone-finished travertine one application will do. On mercantile granites that need sealing, at least two applications are recommended all the time waiting for at least two hours in between applications. Very porous mercantile granites, sandstone, quartzite, etc.  See direction panel for other cautions.

MB-4 MB STONE CARE may require three or more applications. To find out if the stone is perfectly sealed, spill some water on it and wait for approximately half an hour, then wipe it dry. If the surface of the stone did not darken it means that the stone is perfectly sealed. Tops: WEAR RUBBER GLOVES ALL THE TIME. It is best if the surface to be sealed is treated in small sections at a time (4 to 5 square feet). Sprinkle some MB-4 on the surface of the stone to be treated and spread it uniformly using a brush or a clean white rag. Let the product sit for approximately 3/4 minutes to allow for maximum penetration. When the product on the surface of the stone is almost dry, sprinkle a little bit more MB-4 (wet on wet), and then rub with a dry clean rag until any residue of the product is removed from the stone surface. Repeat the procedure on another section and so on, until the whole surface has been treated. On polished marble and hone-finished travertine one application will do. WARNING! CAUSES EYE AND SKIN IRRITATION. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling.

FIRST AID: In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Call a physician. Flush skin with water. If swallowed drink plenty of water. Call a physician immediately.
